A plausible total is not always the right total.
Compare uncertain fields with the source receipt. Distinguish the purchase total, amount paid and balance due before choosing a value. Arithmetic can reveal a mismatch, but should not silently replace the printed amount.

Use a clearer original or request a replacement receipt. Keep the uncertainty visible; do not enter a guessed value just to make the form look complete.
