Document work
Pick the format for the next job—not just the smallest download.
Use an editable format when someone must change the content, PDF when page presentation matters, and a spreadsheet when data needs sorting or calculation. Check the actual output options of the tool before starting.
Put the answer to work
Check the tool’s supported inputs and limits before uploading. Account and plan requirements may apply. See plans.
What will the next person do?
If they will edit, prioritize usable structure. If they will read or submit, prioritize stable presentation. If they will calculate, prioritize correct typed data. One export does not necessarily serve all three.
How WorkSpotHQ helps
PDF to Word
Open PDF to Word with a copy of the source PDF. After conversion, download and open the Word document in your editor. Compare the source alongside it and make a small edit before committing to a substantial rewrite.
PDF to Images
Use PDF to Images when you need page images. Check that every required page is present and readable after export; image output is not an editable text document.
Extract Text from PDF (OCR)
Use Extract text with the PDF when you need the words rather than the original layout. Review the extracted text against the source, especially tables, columns and numbers, before reusing it.
Your next steps
- Ask what the recipient needs to do with the file.
- Choose editability, fixed layout or data analysis as the primary goal.
- Keep the source and export a clearly named copy.
- Open the export in the intended destination application.
What this looks like in practice
CSV can carry rows and values but not a formatted workbook’s multiple sheets or styling. A page image can preserve appearance while making text editing impractical.
Illustrative guidance, not a measured accuracy result or a guarantee for every document.
Before you call it done
OCR text output does not automatically mean a searchable PDF is produced. Do not assume a format or feature that the tool does not offer.
